Cherry Garth was built around 1650's.

The property has had a variety of functions. In 1887 Cherry Garth was converted from three farm workers cottages to home the butler, then later the stable master of the Hall, which is now a thriving country Pub and Restaurant a short distance away from Cherry Garth Holidays.

In 2005 our family moved from Norway to start a new life. From the first moment we saw Cherry Garth it felt like our Garden of Eden. Together we renovated an old barn hidden in our garden into Ask and Embla, we wanted to bring a little of our old life in Norway to our new life in Thornton le Dale by offering a unique take on holiday accommodation offering the best from B&B, hotels and self catering to bring a new concept with a Scandinavian twist.
